Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about buying used shipping containers in Oklahoma.
We deliver shipping containers throughout Oklahoma using tilt-bed trucks. After you place your order, we schedule delivery within 1–3 business days depending on your location. You’ll need a flat, accessible area for the truck to drop off the container — typically a driveway, parking lot, or cleared ground. No special equipment is needed on your end. Use our delivery calculator for an instant cost estimate based on your ZIP code.
We offer four condition grades:
- One-Trip — Nearly new, used for one ocean voyage. Minimal cosmetic wear. Best for container homes and premium projects.
- Cargo Worthy (CWO) — Has a valid CSC plate and can be used for international shipping. May have surface rust and dents. Great all-around value.
- Wind & Water Tight (WWT) — Fully weatherproof but no longer certified for ocean transport. Ideal for on-site storage at the best price.
- As-Is — Sold without warranty. May have cosmetic damage or minor leaks. Budget option for non-critical storage or DIY projects.
Permit requirements vary by city and county in Oklahoma. In general, rural and unincorporated areas have few restrictions on placing a container on private property. Cities like Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Norman, and Edmond may require a zoning or building permit — especially if you plan to convert the container into a living or work space. We recommend contacting your local planning or zoning office before purchasing. We’re happy to help guide you through the process.
Delivery pricing depends on the distance from our warehouse in the Oklahoma City metro area. Local delivery within 25 miles starts at $150. Regional delivery across Oklahoma typically ranges from $200–$450. We deliver up to 500 miles. Enter your ZIP code in our online calculator for an instant estimate, or email us at [email protected] for an exact quote.
- One-Trip & Cargo Worthy — 5-year structural warranty covering frame integrity and weather resistance.
- Wind & Water Tight — 3-year structural warranty.
- As-Is — Sold without warranty.
All containers (except As-Is) include our 30-day satisfaction swap guarantee. If the container doesn’t meet your expectations, we’ll swap it out at no extra charge within the first 30 days.
Cargo Worthy (CWO) containers hold a valid CSC (Convention for Safe Containers) plate, meaning they’re certified for international ocean shipping. They may have surface rust and dents but are structurally sound.
Wind & Water Tight (WWT) containers are fully weatherproof — they keep rain and wind out — but they’re no longer certified for ocean transport. If you only need a container for storage, a WWT unit saves you hundreds of dollars without sacrificing weather protection.
We carry four standard sizes:
- 20ft Standard — 8’ wide × 8'6" tall × 20’ long. ~148 sq ft of floor space. Ideal for residential storage and smaller projects.
- 20ft High Cube — Same footprint with an extra foot of height (9'6"). Perfect when you need overhead clearance.
- 40ft Standard — 8’ wide × 8'6" tall × 40’ long. ~302 sq ft. Great for large equipment, vehicles, or commercial storage.
- 40ft High Cube — Our most popular size. 9'6" tall for maximum storage volume. Ideal for workshops, offices, and container homes.
Yes. Shipping containers make excellent building blocks for residential homes, cabins, and ADUs (accessory dwelling units). We recommend One-Trip or Cargo Worthy containers for home builds because of their superior structural integrity. The 40ft High Cube is the most popular choice for homes because it offers 302 sq ft of floor space with 9'6" ceiling height — enough for comfortable living after insulation and finishing. Check with your local building department for permit and code requirements before starting your project.
You’ll need a flat, level surface that’s accessible to a tilt-bed delivery truck. The truck is about 60 feet long and needs room to maneuver. Gravel pads, concrete slabs, or compacted earth all work well. We recommend placing railroad ties or concrete blocks under the container corners to keep it off the ground and improve drainage. Make sure there are no overhead power lines or branches in the way. If you have questions about your specific site, email us and we’ll help you plan.
We accept wire transfers, cashier’s checks, and company checks. Payment is due before delivery. We do not currently offer financing, but we can provide a detailed invoice for customers who need to secure business or personal financing through their own lender. Email us to discuss payment arrangements.
